“ As I was traveling back from Brazos State Park, I saw this place in the mail and decided to try it, and not an I glad I stopped! The food was delicious! I got the ribs, sausage, and brisket, which came with two sides and a can of soda. I chose the onion rings and the potato salad; the onion rings tasted great and had a satisfying crunch to them, and the potato salads was flavorful and a good pairing with the bbq. The meat itself was tender and well cooked, and the sauce was yummy. I would love to come back, it’s with the drive ”
“ A delicious stop on our way back from Brazos Bend State Park! I had the 2 Meat Plate with brisket and sausage--both very tender and flavorful. My sides were fried okra and potato salad, which really hit the spot. The quiet atmosphere and outdoor seating were very appealing. The folks working there are very friendly and attentive. DON'T MISS IT! It's about 2 miles from 288, so it's very convenient for travelers. ”
“ Wow!!! Try the brisket!!! It’s amazing!!! This is easily some of the best BBQ in the area! It’s some of the best BBQ I’ve had throughout Texas! Their bbq sauce is good, but you won’t want it. Buy extra to take home. You WILL want some for later! There is only outside seating, but don’t let that stop you! It’s 100% worth the trip! Tell your friends! ”
“ Amazing ribs! We came here on our way to the Brazos Bent State Park, and stopped for lunch. it is a simple BBQ place with a lot of character and very nice staff. We had ribs and pulled pork, along with a cooked cabbage. everything was perfect. ”
“ Found this place looking for a lunch option next to my workplace. Had some good reviews so decided to give it a try. Small place tucked in the countryside but you can't miss it. Quite visible from the road. A lot of parking spots. The seating is very casual and outdoors (covered roof). Food - The flavor was good. Fries were crisp. The coleslaw was fresh. I took the two-meat plate with brisket (based on their suggestion) and sausage. The sausage was good. The brisket flavor was good but not impressed with the cuts I got - had way too much fat on it. Probably the only negative thing I experienced with the food. I would like to come back and try more options. ”
“ Bout as country as it gets. Outdoor seating, smoker right there on the side, a couple little chihuahuas guarding the parking lot, it’s clear this is a small mom and pop business. Everything was good, but the collard greens were probably the show stealer for me. Fried okra was fire too. The sausage was aight, but the fatty brisket and ribs were great. Portions were healthy, service was super kind. I was pleased! I just wish they put the sauce on the side! ”
